Our Course Offerings At GCE we are a completely online framework for your homeschool journey. We are excited to offer the following resources: First we have our “4 Hours to Freedom” classes. These classes are completely focused on Classical Education, with the sole purpose of teaching students how to think, and not what to think. This is a departure from the typical brick-and-mortar school model. The “4 Hours to Freedom” program only meets once a week for a 4-hour time block. At the beginning of the program, you will submit your top 3 choices for a meeting time, from which your ultimate meeting time will be chosen, based on availability. For the rest of the week, students will be offline doing their textbook work and readings and/or other assignments from you, their parent/teacher. For four days out of the week in preparation for the students’ meeting day, they will be working on their book work offline (unless told otherwise by their parent or guardian) and then on the fifth day, the student will get online and join their Zoom call for four hours. The “4 Hours to Freedom” program runs for a two-semester school year, with our fall semester starting on August 5th and ending December 2nd with a Thanksgiving break in between. To be updated for our spring semester.Our Academy classes are completely separate in terms of selection and execution of classes and sessions. The Academy is “a lá carte,” with different Instructor/Tutors offering sessions on topics such as “creative writing” and “primary geography.” The Instructors/Tutors can teach and instruct on whatever topic they choose, so long as it adheres to our guidelines, so you will find a range of topics and subjects offered. When you're looking through our selection on the website you will be able to see the times and days that each available class/session has to offer. The classes/sessions can be from once a week, to twice a week, for 4-8 weeks, a semester, or even the whole year at whatever price they choose for their class. Once you’ve chosen your class, just make sure your student gets in their Zoom call on time and that's it!
