Curious What Live Class Time Looks Like in the Grammar Stage?
Families often ask how much time students spend in live classes and how the rest of the week is structured.
In the Grammar Stage, students attend two live class sessions each week, with each class lasting two hours. For Grammar 2 and Grammar 3, an optional third day is also available.
During live sessions, students engage in guided discussions, explore readings together, solve puzzles both independently and as a team, perform science experiments, and receive guidance for their week’s assignments.
Outside of class time, students complete readings, writing assignments, and other coursework at home. Many families find that students spend a few hours on 2–3 days each week working through the material, depending on the student’s pace and schedule. Most assignments are scalable, allowing families to adjust the workload to fit their child’s needs.
This structure creates a thoughtful balance between mentor-guided instruction and independent learning, while preserving the flexibility that makes homeschooling so meaningful for many families.

In the Rhetoric Stage, students attend one small-group live class session each week, lasting four hours. This time is typically divided into four one-hour subject blocks, with short breaks in between to keep students refreshed and focused.
During live sessions, students engage in thoughtful discussions, analyze readings together, and explore ideas at a deeper level. Students are encouraged to articulate their reasoning, ask questions, and interact with their peers, strengthening both their understanding of the material and their ability to communicate clearly. Mentors also provide guidance for the week’s assignments, helping students approach their work with confidence and clarity.
