About Get Classically Educated

Our Story

Why We Started Get Classically Educated

Most online homeschool programs give you content. GCE gives you a mentor.

We founded Get Classically Educated because we kept seeing the same gap: families who wanted intellectual depth and real academic structure, but not the rigidity of a full-day virtual school. Parents who valued the classical tradition but weren’t sure how to deliver it well on their own. Students who needed someone to think with them – not just assign work to them.

So we built something different. GCE is a mentor-led, discussion-based classical homeschool program designed to develop real thinkers – and flexible enough to fit your family’s life.

We follow the time-tested framework of the Trivium – Grammar, Dialectic, and Rhetoric — meeting students where they are developmentally and walking with them toward confident, articulate, independent thought.

This isn’t a curriculum you plug into. It’s a relationship you grow in.

GCE is a Christian-founded program, and while faith isn’t forced into every lesson, our values quietly shape how we teach, how we treat students, and what we believe education is ultimately for. While we don’t offer formal Bible classes, our discussions naturally reflect a Christian worldview, questions of character, morality, and doing what’s right are never off the table. Students in our Rhetoric 3 and 4 programs engage with biblical principles directly, exploring leadership and conflict resolution through a scriptural lens.

We believe a classical education and a life of integrity go hand in hand.

Why GCE Is Different

There are plenty of options when it comes to homeschooling. Here’s why families choose GCE:

Mentor-Led, Not Just Self-Paced Your child isn’t left to navigate learning alone. Every GCE student is guided by a mentor who challenges them and invests in their growth throughout the year.

Discussion-Based Learning We believe ideas deserve conversation. Rather than passive consumption of content, GCE students engage in thoughtful discussion — learning to articulate, defend, and refine their thinking. This is how confident communicators are made.

Rooted in Classical Education GCE follows the Trivium — Grammar, Dialectic, and Rhetoric — a proven framework that develops the whole student: knowledge, reasoning, and expression. We don’t chase trends. We teach what has worked for centuries.

Built Around Your Family GCE provides the structure and guidance of a school without dictating your schedule. Our flexible model means your family keeps the freedom that makes homeschooling worth it, without sacrificing academic depth or accountability.

Our Mission

Our mission is to equip students with the habits of mind and communication skills that prepare them for life — not just academics.

We believe education should:
Develop critical thinking
Strengthen articulate communication
Encourage intellectual curiosity
Build personal responsibility
Foster steady academic growth

Through structured weekly expectations and guided instruction, we support both students and parents without removing the flexibility that makes homeschooling meaningful.

Our Educational Philosophy

Our program follows the time-tested framework of the classical Trivium — Grammar, Dialectic, and Rhetoric — aligned with key developmental stages.

Rather than emphasizing busywork or rapid acceleration, we prioritize depth, logical progression, and meaningful engagement with literature, history, and ideas.

How It Works

GCE is built around a simple but powerful weekly rhythm. Each student selects a day and time to meet live with their mentor and classmates for a four-hour session — structured, discussion-based, and mentor-led. The rest of the week is theirs: independent work completed on their own schedule, with the flexibility to connect virtually with classmates when projects call for collaboration.

It’s the structure of a classroom without the constraints of one. Parents stay informed and supported without having to become the expert in every subject.

Whether you enroll in our full Live Online Program or choose Curriculum Only support, GCE gives your family a clear academic path from age 8 through high school graduation.
