Now looking for mentors · All 9 levels

Mentor one day a week.
Or more. Your call.
Keep the rest of your day.

“4 Hours to Freedom” isn’t just for our families. Lead a live, discussion-based classical class from home, and let our agendas and mentor notes do the heavy lifting.

Your class day, roughly
8:45
Coffee. Skim the mentor notes (already written).
9:00
Class on Zoom: discuss, question, coach
1:00
Done. Seriously.
1:01
Your kids, your garden, your nap. We don’t judge.
Times are an example. You pick your class times.
No teaching certificate? Good news: we don’t lecture.
GCE mentors lead discussion and coach students through big ideas. If you can ask a good question and wait for the answer, you’re halfway there. We train you on the classical method.
A week in the life

One day a week? Totally fine.
You pick how much.

Leading just one class a week is completely fine. Each class is about 4 hours. Friday is prep day: 2–4 hours to get ready for next week, depending on the projects.

Quick answers

Is this a job or a contract?
Mentors are independent contractors (1099). You set your own hours and run class your way, using our agendas.
Do I need a teaching degree?
Nope. We’re mentor-led and discussion-based. We train you on the classical method.
Which levels need mentors?
We run nine levels: Grammar 1–3, Dialectic 1–2 and Rhetoric 1–4, and we’re looking for mentors at every one of them.
How and when am I paid?
Per student, per school year, paid quarterly based on your students that quarter.
Can someone sub if I’m sick?
Yes. Our mentors cover for each other, and subs are paid for the class.
Four hours to freedom.
Yours too.
