About Course

Speech (Classical Education)

This course cultivates the art of effective and eloquent communication through the classical tradition of rhetoric. Students are trained to speak with clarity, confidence, and purpose, learning to organize their thoughts and express them in a manner that is both persuasive and engaging. Emphasis is placed on the principles of good speaking, including proper diction, vocal control, posture, and delivery.

Drawing from classical models, students practice memorization and recitation of great speeches and literary passages, developing both their command of language and their appreciation for truth, goodness, and beauty. They also compose and deliver original speeches, applying the rhetorical canons of invention, arrangement, style, memory, and delivery.

Through regular practice and constructive feedback, students grow in poise, articulation, and confidence before an audience. By the end of the course, they will be equipped to communicate ideas effectively and speak with conviction, grace, and integrity in both formal and everyday settings.
