DEVELOPING THINKERS, NOT TEST TAKERS
SEE A GCE WEEK
4 hours of live class. The rest fits your life.
Your student’s whole agenda is already planned for you. After live class, the independent work is open any time, day or night, so it bends around the farm, the family business, soccer practice and game day. Live class is mentor-led on Zoom, or parent-led at home, whichever fits your family. Here’s what a normal week looks like.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
4 Hours
of live class a week. The independent work is there 24/7, so your student does it when it fits: before chores, after practice, or on the road to a game.
THE REAL AGENDA
See it in action
A 35-second walk through a real week: the tabs, the at-home checklist, parent notes, games and the class link.
A real week from a student login. Zoom link hidden.
See a sample week
This is exactly what you and your student open on class day. Nothing staged.
Top: the week at a glance. Below it, each subject shows what happens in class, then the at-home checklist your student ticks off during the week.

“In class” is your live day. Families on the agenda run it themselves with the same plan, the parent notes, and the mentor notes and directions.
THE QUESTIONS EVERY PARENT ASKS
Will this actually fit our week?
One or two scheduled class days, then independent work at your own pace. The agenda tells you exactly what to do.

Live class, mentor-led or parent-ledAt home, roughly this many hours a day
Every week. 4 Hours to Freedom.
“What sets this program apart is its thoughtful balance between structure and freedom. Students stay engaged without feeling overwhelmed.”
Benjamin M, GCE parent
“It is still up to me how we structure our week and there is no guilt if we don’t get to something or change something to fit us.”
Laura T, GCE parent
“He likes that he can be more independent since each week is clearly laid out.”
Alicia S, GCE parent
THE BEST PERK NOBODY WARNS YOU ABOUT
Go places when everyone else is in class.
The zoo on a Tuesday. The museum with no line. The beach in October. When your week is flexible, you get the empty places. Then when public school lets out, lean into your school days and skip the crowds.

Who leads the live day?
It depends on which option you choose. Same agenda, same look, two ways to run your live day.
Live class option: mentor-led
Who leads: A mentor runs the live class on Zoom. Grammar meets twice a week for 2 hours each. Dialectic and Rhetoric meet once, on Day 5, for 4 hours.
Your job: Get your student to class, then check the work and cheer them on the at-home days. You don’t have to plan or lead the lesson.
Bonus: Your mentor keeps you posted on how your student is doing. The student login is also the parent login.

Who leads: You do, at home, any day that works for your family. No set class time.
Your job: Run the live day with the agenda. You get the mentor login too, so the parent notes tell you what to say and do, and you grade and keep the records.
Bonus: You’re never on your own. Parent support is there if you get stuck.

PARENT SUPPORT
You are not figuring this out alone.
Your mentor is there to coach you on the method: how to ask classical questions, lead a discussion and approach it with your child.
With the agenda option
Your mentor coaches you. They don’t teach the subject for you.
- A one-on-one lesson on how to use the program and log into the mentor side
- Mentor-level access, so you can see how to run the class
- Prompt questions, so you don’t have to read the whole lesson first
- Bullet-point notes, so you know what your student is working on without doing the lesson yourself
- A Class Dojo chat with your own personal mentor for “how do I lead this week?” questions
With the live class option
Your mentor gets to know you, not just the class. They keep you posted on where your student is excelling, where they’re right on level, and where a little help at home would go a long way.
“Just a heads up, logic is slipping a little. A bit of extra help over the next week or two will get them back on level.”
You stay in charge of grades and transcripts. We don’t send paper-by-paper grades, but your mentor is happy to help you learn how to grade.
Can my kid do this from anywhere?
The agenda lives on the website, so a laptop, tablet or phone works. Kitchen table, car, grandma’s house. Live class is one day a week on Zoom, and the same class link works all year.
What if we miss a week?
Weeks are never locked by date. Use the Jump to Week menu to catch up, or start with any week and keep going. Life happens.
What is my job?
Coach, not planner. The parent notes sit right under the work and tell you what to do each day. Check it, cheer, and keep it moving. With the live option, a mentor leads class day. With the agenda option, you lead it, and the notes tell you what to say and do.
What do we need to get started?
A device, notebooks, and the books for the level. Everything else is in the agenda. Not sure? Try a week for free and have a look around. It gets you started right away while you’re thinking about it, so you don’t miss another week.
Does it look different at each level?
Every level looks and feels the same. Only the content changes. Learn the agenda once and you know them all.
What subjects are covered?
Exposition (writing, grammar and literature), logic, debate and science. History is woven through every level rather than taught on its own, and geography runs through the Grammar years. Latin is part of the Dialectic years. Math is not included — most families keep the math program that is already working for them.
What do other parents (and students) say?
Two parents, two students. Real families, their own words.
