Is Homeschooling Legal in Arkansas?

Yes. Here’s what Arkansas asks of you:

• File a Notice of Intent by August 15. Submit your NOI to your local school superintendent each year. Filing after August 15 may trigger a five-day waiting period before you can begin (unless waived).
• No standardized testing required. Arkansas Act 832 of 2015 repealed home school testing entirely.
• Optional college-readiness testing. Families may opt in to a free, state-funded PSAT (10th grade) or ACT (11th grade) if they choose — entirely optional.
